Dough Ball Preview Party
The 2019 Gingerbread Spectacular winners are announced at this gala fundraising evening. 10am - 4pm daily. This annual display of gingerbread houses large and small, with a few cabins, castles, lighthouses, and mythical structures thrown in for good measure shows off the heart of the community. Professional bakers and grade school builders all compete in this hilarious annual event with prizes awarded for Most Ingredients Used, Best Holiday Spirit, Most Obsessive Compulsive, Best Landscaping and, of course, Most Spectacular among other awards. Bring an ample main, side or salad to share and come to the Opera House on this winter's eve for a night celebrating community and the holiday season, and listen to the joyful music presente dby Kevin Kiley on piano and a talented group of vocalists. Doors open at 5:30, dinner around 6 pm, music around 6:45. All ages. Please bring serving utensils and a plate and eating utensils as well. Free, donations welcome.

Open Mic Upstairs
The Opera House's winter Open Mic series starts this January and welcomes musicians, poets, comedians, story-tellers and what have you? Sign-ups begin at 6:30 pm and the mic opens at 7 pm. Open mic slots are rotating 12 minutes sets. The Opera House's volunteer group, the Friends, will have chili and soup and dessert available, and the Opera House bar will have cold drinks.
