The Sweet Remains
May 31 @ 7:30 pm

The Sweet Remains is the rare all-independent band to have nearly 60 million Spotify streams and counting! They’re also unusual on today’s music scene as a band headed by 3 gifted singer- songwriters, each of whom contribute to the writing and 3-part harmonies that define the band’s sound. Their songs easily appeal to fans of modern folk-rockers like Ray Lamontagne and John Mayer. However, it is their lush harmonies, that distinguish tSR from the throngs of guitar-toting troubadours and harken back to super-groups of the 60’s and 70’s like CSN, the Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel. Advance discounted tickets $25, available only from the box office (call 207-633-5159). Regular tickets $30, online from the Opera House website and day of show at the door.
If you haven’t already seen it, or even if you have, you might want to check out this film featuring the band…Inspired by Rich, Greg & Brian’s real-life experiences together as a band, “The Independents” tells the story of 3 solo-artists who meet at a crossroads and discover harmony… Made over several years in between the band’s tours and other releases, The Independents debuted at the Santa Barbara Int’l Film Festival where The Hollywood Reporter hailed it “An extremely engaging film. An unconventional and sharply written script which subverts all the cliches of the star-is-born story.” (More press here) It then won the jury prize for BEST FEATURE FILM at the Omaha Film Festival — and has gone on to win audiences and plaudits at top festivals all over the U.S.
