A holiday tradition!  Make sure to carve out a bit of time during the holiday season to take a look at the 2022 gingerbread creations. They are all a secret until they are delivered by their bakers and creators – but we bet there will be confectionery cabins and castles, bungalows, fairy houses, starships, farms, cathedrals and more. All skill levels, all ages welcome to create a gingerbread structure this year and enter it into the Spectacular. Prizes awarded for not only the Most Spectacular, but also for Best Holiday Spirit, Most Hilarious, Best Landscaping, Best Representation of a Local landmark, Best Youth Design, Most Delicious Looking and more! Open Saturday & Sunday, December 17-18. Preview Celebration Friday evening, December 16.  No admission fee. Donations Welcome.

This summer we are pleased to have the artwork of Rick Dickinson on exhibit in the gallery upstairs. This show, A Year in the Gut, includes 365 paintings, each painted on a specific date with the end result being an artistic interpretation of Townsend Gut in all seasons. It was quite an undertaking, and worth seeing. The gallery is open Tuesday-Friday from 10-2 and the exhibit is free. For more information on Rick Dickinson visit his website.

Effective May 8, the Opera House will no longer require audience members to provide proof of vaccination, or a negative Covid test, on the night of the show. Some performers may continue to require audience members to provide proof of vaccination, and some have required that audience members wear masks. If their management has made us aware of these requirements, these will be listed in advance under the show description in the calendar section. We appreciate your cooperation. If you don’t agree with the policy, that is your choice, but please don’t argue with our staff and volunteers. We  will be keeping the windows open  during performances for extra ventilation, so bring a jacket if the evening is predicted to be cool.  If Covid hospitalizations and deaths begin to climb as the 2022 season gets fully underway, the above policy may change again.
